[Despite having the full weight of the Mikaelson family at her beck and call, when Freya is doing favors for friends, she tends to work out of Rosseau's. She's trying to be a bigger part of the witch community and that means putting some distance between herself and the Abattoir.
It's one of Davina's rules. If Freya wants to be part of the French Quarter coven, then she needs to act like it, and not have the weight of her family looming in the background. Freya agrees.
The bells chime on the door to the back room, and she catches the reflection of dark hair in the silver of Ivy's stew pot. She glances over, eyeing her for a moment before raising an eyebrow.]
Are you here for food or a different kind of cooking?
( Sometimes, Allison does things on her own. The Argents ,while equal opportunity, are still a matriarchy. What she says goes. It started as soon as she came of age. The other hunters respect her. They go where she asks and report back. Scott's pack is an extension, though, she would argue that she and Scott are equals.
She doesn't have to explain herself, or where she's going.
She always had a soft spot in her heart for New Orleans. She was there as a little girl during one of her parents' pit stops. Weird thing was, the entire werewolf population had vanished.
She's told this story now, of course.
But, Allison now has witches of her own on her payroll. And she's been told just how concentrated magic is in NOLA. And not just magic, but people who are magic. The city 'lights up like a Christmas tree.'
She prefers not to make her presence known, or she'd reach out directly to the regent. Despite the Davina Claire's existence, Rousseau's also has the highest concentration of singule conduit magic.
Next best thing?
She takes off her sunglasses and rests them on her head. )
That depends. The sign said you were open?
( Maybe it's a slow day. Better that they're alone. She must be giving off all that magic. )
( She takes off her sunglasses completely, setting them on an empty table in front of her. )
And if I don't exactly know why I'm here?
( Or, who she's supposed to be meeting. She eyes Ivy, who seems friendly. But, Allison doesn't have the power to sense power. She only knows someone here has it. )
( Bringing her sunglasses with her, she does as Freya says, following her into a smaller back office. Away from prying eyes, or Ivy's ears, Allison takes a seat. )
I think I'm here for you. I've done the research and there's someone powerful here. Maybe both of you, but, something tells me it's you. You're magic.
[Since there's terminology for these things. You can't just go around calling people magic, Allison. But she also is a little on edge, because she's not sure what Allison is looking for, exactly.]
A wide network of hunters, people I'm not affiliated with, are targeting supernaturals across the country. A decade ago, they were small, but faithful. And then they fell off the map.
( And with Allison here, it's probably clear they're back on it. )
They're emerging again. Tracking werewolf packs, hexing witches - we think they've even brought a few witches to their side. They're getting too good at finding people we've hidden. Right now, there are whole packs that keep on the move.
( She narrows her eyes. )
I'm here because Tamara Monroe, their leader, was seen at the Louis Armstrong airport. In New Orleans.
[She doesn't sound like she's not taking this threat seriously, because she understands Allison's concern. She even appreciates the warning. But she also isn't going to entirely trust it on face value, nor is she going to worry about too much when Marcel is still in town.
Some of the Originals - particularly Klaus - may be sneaking off for Hope's graduation, but not all of them. She reaches for her phone, and begins texting out warnings: to Marcel, to Davina, to Aiden, who's acting the role of alpha in the Bayou while Hayley is out of town, telling them to prepare. But her gaze is still focused on Allison.]
[Oh there's a name she knows. It's been a while since she's spoken to Marin Morrell but the wayward reaches of the Bennett line always find their way back to a Mikaelson, one way or another.]
She sent you to find me? Or she sent you to just find the most powerful witch in the room?
( Where magic lit up the brightest, in the largest cluster. )
She didn't know if it would be you, or the Regent. And your regent is cloaked. As she should be. She said that, magic isn't always a constant. One witch could have power, but that same witch, it only takes one decision...
[And she's the brightest spot on the map for a reason. Drawing bad things to her rather than Davina is usually the better call. It's one part penance, two parts strategy, because people come expecting Davina Claire. And they wind up in the hands of a Mikaelson witch.]
And next to the regent, I'm probably the most powerful witch in this city.
( That hand seems like it's an olive branch and like she believes her, so she shakes it with confidence and the strength that comes from being a trained hunter. Late in the game, but still trained.
That's where you come in. I work with an organization, one that's international. It focuses on relocation. When we aren't able to cut the snake off at the head, we move. Literally. It's not you, or the regent, it's every witch and werewolf in New Orleans - that's in danger.
[That is an undertaking that's ... not going to fly. The people of New Orleans don't roll over and run. The streets will run red with blood and the city will burn before they do.
And even if they weren't, she wouldn't be able to make that call for all of them.]
I can't make this decision. As powerful as I am, I'm not one of the faction leaders. You'll have to take this pitch to them.
Three. The Regent of the witches, the Alpha of the Bayou wolves, and the leader of the vampires.
[And then there's the Mikaelson family, who tends to sit apart from all of them, even though they intersect with all three, but Freya can represent their interests well enough.]
[And it's back to her phone again. Davina already wants a meeting and says as much in her texts. Marcel is skeptical at best. Aiden can be in the Quarter in an hour, and will have Hayley on speakerphone.]
We can meet in an hour. That is, if you don't have anything better to do?

[She turns to face Allison fully this time. Her head tips to the side, appraising her, and then she smiles.]
If you're here for a drink, that doesn't open until four. If you're here for lunch, I think the stew is going to be another twenty minutes?
[She glances over to Ivy, raising an eyebrow as though to confirm and the other witch shrugs. "Give it a half hour, just to be sure."]
Half-hour, then. But if you're here to see me ...
[She folds her hands over her knee and offers a small smile.]
I am currently open for business.

Can we talk here? Uninterrupted?

Because, my name is Allison. Argent. Marin Morell sent me.

She didn't know who she was sending me to.

Well, my name is Freya Mikaelson.
[And she's the brightest spot on the map for a reason. Drawing bad things to her rather than Davina is usually the better call. It's one part penance, two parts strategy, because people come expecting Davina Claire. And they wind up in the hands of a Mikaelson witch.]

Mikaelson.
( Like... )
no subject
Like the Original family, yes.
[What are you going to do with that, Allison?]
no subject
( Except, Klaus. But, that's implied, right? Her research had not proven well. Then again, that means Freya did her job. )

[If she really wants the much longer story, Freya will tell her, but as she said. Complicated.]

( Really. Interesting. )
A witch from your line would be -- you've descended from great power.

[Hence why she's the brightest light in the city.]
What do you need from me, exactly?
